Castle School with Urs
Every Thursday through school summer holidays, starting 30th July.
Set in the historic ruins of Hastings castle, our weekly Castle School sessions aim to bring a holistic education and child-led experience to our castle ruins and nature reserve.
Aimed at children already in Primary School, sessions are supervised by parents of participating children and led by our forest school trained lead Urs.
At its core, Castle School will revolve around the key principles of Nurture, Curiosity, Kindness and Safety. These principles will inform all planning, decision making and changes in the moment.
Each week we’ll have social introductions, small games and activities that will typically involve tool work and learning natural skills. Learners will have a chance to explore their surroundings, learn about our environment and develop skills such as resilience and confidence.
All learners will be respected and valued as individuals, and all contributions by learners will be held in equal stead by all members of the group.
